Blood Rainbow Interview

1.Can you give us an update on what has been going on with the band since the recording and release of the new album?

We started to work on the next album. In that long term of the band break, Florian (the songwriter of blood music) wrote Upheaval, the second part of Upheaval and a new full double album. It was fantastic when we heard demos of the full albums. Our first goal was when we met  in 2014 after years to try to complete Upheaval without strains. Then we agreed: If we can do it without any problem, we immediately continues this process and reorganize the band. And now we proudly have the cd and start recording the next Bloodrainbow stuff.

2.In November you had released a new album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording and also how does it differ from the stuff you have released in the past?

In principles it is a Bloodrainbow stuff. Neoclassical solos, bloodrainbow riffs, death metal vocal and blastbeat. But these album characteristic more melodical than the older, but in an other way. It is not melodeath or any other melodic extreme metal. Additionally, we tried to make an experiment with wind instuments trumphet, sax and flute. This is Bloodrainbow in 2017. For want off better, Bloodrainbow is a power death metal with neoclassical solos.

3.This is the first album to be released since 2005, can you tell us a little bit more about what has been going on during the time frame?

We were active 2002-2007. After smelteries album we had member changes and in 2007 our label Vic Records broke down and the owner told us he sold the rights of our album to an other label and suggested to try to speak with the new guys. Naturally it was fake. This conflict caused a huge lost of motivation and stopped the band for undefinable time. 3-4 years ago we met first and Flo showed me the new songs and we decided to try it to record and complete.

4.What are some of the lyrical topics and subjects the band explores with the newer music?

Upheaval is the history of humanity from the big boom through the evolution and the modern man activities, wars. There is a special theme the conquistadors in the last song. The artwork was inspired by that song.

5.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name Blood Rainbow'?
Blood - Death metal
Rainbow - Varicolored (in blood dyes)
We tried to make coloured music below the flag of death metal.

6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played over the years and also how would you describe your stage performance?
We had no special outfit or show elements, just the pure music! We've played a lot of show in our active period. We played with gods: Vital Remains, Vader, Dissection, Rotting Christ, Ensiferum, Suidakra, lots of shows in Hungary and abroad.

7.Do you have any touring or show plans for the future?
Yes, but first we should reorganize the basics of the band and adapt ourself in this era. 10 years ago it was easy to go to a tour or somewhere to play, but nowadays everybody have family, children…etc. We will organize it while making new album.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of death metal?
This music a bit strange for anybody who heard it first because they cant categorize it well. Naturally the old Bloodrainbow fans were so happy! We've got very good feedback new death metal fans as well.

9.What is going on with some of the other bands or musical projects these days that some of the band members are a part of?
None, just Bloodrainbow.

10.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?
After we are going to record the next 3 album (have written in our break) everybody can see that it is not a music experiment or an experimental music, it is true Bloodrainbow on a next level.

11.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?
In the early years the common gods were: Cryptopsy, Vomitory, Vader, The Crown, Vital Remains, the old stuffs like Nocturnus and the solo heavy-power heroes from the 70s80s.
Nowadays, when death metal has separated to million subgenres and there are millions of bands its hard. We listen lots of music but the roots, influencers remain the same. We like the fresh stuffs from Benighted, Aeternam, Beyond Creation, Black Dahlia Murder, Mgla, Primordial etc. So It is various. Now there are so much good music… :)

12.What are some of your non musical interests?
Florian build original veteran motor sidecars.

13.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?
Upheaval!

Thanks in advance
