Rape Festival where a band from Florida that played a very heavy and brutal form of gore/death metal and this is a review of their self released and self titled 2009 album.
The album starts out with some death metal guitar riffs, and drums along with some screams and solos before going into a brutal direction along with some blast beats and growls and you can also hear some dark sounding synths as well as some human torture and spoken word samples.
by the time the third song comes around the band stops using the synths and atmospheric sounds and returns to a more brutal death metal sound and they mix in a good mixture of mid paced and fast parts as well as adding in a touch of grindcore to their technical sound.
Rape Festival do a great job at combining old school and brutal death metal together with a great amount of technical parts and you can hear this band has a great amount of talent as musicians and they are very good at creating guitar leads that are very dark and technical all at the same time.
Song lyrics cover rape and gore themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful and heavy sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this recording.
In my opinion Rape Festival are a very great sounding brutal and technical gore/death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "First And Final Taste" "Scorn of the Earth" and "Wrath". 7/5 out of 10.
