LachryManopsia are a band from Canada that plays a very melodic form of death metal and this is a review of their self released 2013 ep "Released".
"The Further I Search The Less I Comprehend" which is also the first song on the ep opens up with static noises along with some clean guitars as well as some bass before adding in drums which also leads up to some nu metal style vocals that later evolve into death metal growls and high pitched screams and you can hear a lot of melody in the guitar riffing and you can also hear synths in the background and towards the end guitar leads are added in certain sections.
"A Hypoplastic Masterpiece" begins with technical and melodic sounding guitar leads before adding in drums, heavy guitar and bass riffs along with some growls and screams which also lead up to a small amount of blast beats and you can also hear a small amount of synths which also leads up to progressive elements being added into the guitar riffing.
"Cryptic Identity" opens up with heavy and technical sounding guitar and bass riffs before adding in drums along with some death metal growls and high pitched screams and you can also hear melody being added to the guitar riffing which also brings in guitar solos and leads shortly after that and they come in and out of the song, halfway through the song you can hear a small amount of synths in the background before the music gets heavy again.
"3 KM Left" starts up with some synths and a few seconds alter bass guitars and drums kick in along with some heavy and melodic guitar riffs and leads and the song is a short instrumental with no vocals being utilized.
"Nailed Down, Hammered On" kicks in with heavy and melodic sounding guitar and riffs along with some bass, synths, drums, growls and screams and as time goes on by there are also technical elements being added into the song.
"Nature's Leprosy" comes in with heavy guitar and bass riffs and you can hear some melody in the guitar riffing along with some drums and high pitched screams and you can also hear a small amount of synths in the background which also leads up to guitar solos and leads coming in and out of the song.
"Le Naufrage" which is also the last song on the album opens up with heavy guitar riffs and leads along with some drums and spoken word parts which also leads up to growls and screams as well as some melodic guitar riffing and you can also h ear bass guitars in certain sections of the song and halfway through the song synths are added in.
Song lyrics are written in a mixture of English and French and cover philosophical themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound for being a self released recording where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on the recording.
In my opinion LachryManopsia are a very great sounding melodic death metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "The Further I Search The Less I Comprehend" "3 KM Left" and "Nature's Leprosy". RECOMMENDED BUY.
