Goregast are a band from Germany that has been featured before in this zine with a musical style that combines grindcore with death metal and this is a review of their 2013 ep "Covered In Skin" which was released by FDA Rekotz.
"Covered In Skin - Skopie" begins with heavy death metal guitars with some drums kicking in shortly after that and after awhile you can hear some melody and bass guitars which lead to a faster direction along with some growls and blast beats and then going back to a slower and heavier direction but utilizing many different styles of riffs.
"Mindcreeper" begins with heavy guitar and bass riffs,, drums and high pitched screams before getting a little faster and utilizing some deep growls before going into a mid paced direction for awhile and then getting fast with some blast beats and then making a switch back and forth between slow and fast parts and adding in some melody in certain parts and towards the end there is a brief use of guitar leads.
Song lyrics cover gore themes, while the production has a very strong, powerful, heavy and professional sound where you can hear all of the musical instruments that are present on this ep.
In my opinion this is another great sounding recording from Goregast and if you are a fan of this band, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Mindcreeper". RECOMMENDED BUY.
