Mentally Assured Destruction/Swine/Torn Flesh Records Net Label/2010 Album Review

Mentally  Assured  Destruction  are  a  band  from  Pennsylvania  that  plays  a  very  extreme  and  brutal  form  of  experimental/grindcore  and  this  is  a review  of  their  2010  album  "Swine"  which  was  released  by  Torn  Flesh  Records  Net  Label.

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  great  amount  of  brutal  sounding  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range  from  slow, mid  paced  to  fast  grindcore  riffs  that  are  very  heavy  and  brutal  sounding  with  a  great  amount  of  influences  from  experiemental  music  and  there  are  no  guitar  solos  or  leads  present  on  this  recording.

Vocals  range  from  guttural  deep  death/grind  vocals  and  high  pitched  grindcore  screams  with  a  great  amount  of  samples  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  lyrics  cover  anti  corporate,  hateful  and  everyday  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has   a  very  strong,  powerful  and  heavy  sound  to  it.

In  my  opinion  Mentally  Assured  Destruction  are  a  very  great  sounding  experimental  grindcore  band  and  if  you  are  a  fan  of  this  style,  you  should  check  out  this  recording.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Paper  Gods"  and  "Greed  Epidemic".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
