Augury/Concealed/Sonic Unyon Records/Sonic Unyon Records/2011 CD Re-Issue Review

Augury are a band from Canada that plays avery progressive and technical form of death metal and this is a review of their 2011 Re-Issue of "Concealed" which was released by Sonic Unyon Metal and originally came out in 2004 on Galy Records.

Drums range from slow, midpaced to fast drumming with alot of brutal blast beats, while the bass playing has a very dark tone with riffs that seem to follow the riffing that is coming out of the guitars and at times there are some very progressive bass leads.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, midpaced to fast death metal riffs that also have alot of progressive and technical elements mixed with some weird sounding distorted noises, while the lead guitars are very technical and melodic sounding death metal guitar leads, as for the classical guitars when they are utilized they bring in even more progressive elements into the music.

Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls but there are also some high pitched black metal screams along with clean singing male and female vocals, while the lyrics cover celestial bodies, sadness, death and corruption, as for the production it sounds very heavy and professional with all of the musical instruments aving a very brutal sound to them.

In my opinion Augury are a very original sounding progressive death metal band with alot of talent, and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Ever Know Peace Again" "Cosmic Migration" "Alien Shores" and "From Eden Estranged". RECEMMONDED BUY.
