The Wretched One/Omnnious/Candlelight Records/2010 CD Review

The Wretched One are a band from Norway that is another one of Sammoth from Emperor, Zyklon and Scum's band and instead of being black metal or black metal influence this band goes for more of a modern death/thrash sound and this is a review of their 2010 album "Omnious" which will be released by Candlelight Records.

Drums range from midpaced to fast playing with alot of blast beats, while the synths bring industrial elements to the music, as for the bass playing it has some very heavy riffs that follow the guitars.

Rhythm guitars mix death metal and thrash together with some more modern groove metal elements and the riffing ranges anywhere from midpaced to fast, while the lead guitars sound very skillful in the solos and gring back the old school thrash guitar way of solos.

Vocals mix death metal growls with some thrash influences and elements that have a hardcore style growling edge with some spoken word elements being used at times, while the lyrics cover somewhat philosophical themes, as for the production it sounds very proffessional and all of the instruments have a very heavy sound to them and it seems like all of the songs are clued to each other.

In my opinion The Wretched One are very good at their modern day style of death/thrash and while fans of Sammoth's more black metal orientated band's might not like this album< I can still see fans of modern day death/thrash liking this band. RECEMMONDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Red Forest Alienation" "The Armagaddonist" "With Ravenous Hunger" and "Human Corporation". RECEMMONDED BUY
