Enemy of the Sun/Caedium/Massacre Records/2010 CD Review

Enemy Of The Sun are a band from Germany that consists of many metal veterans and play a style that I would describe as progressive death/thrash with a small amount of black metal and this is a review of their 2010 album "Caedium" which was released by Massacre Records.

Drums cover alot of variety with some slow to midpaced drumming with some fast playing and brutal blast beats mixed in with some tribal parts, while the bass playing follows the riffs coming out of the guitars and there are some industrial style of keyboards being used at times.

Rhythm guitars have alot of variety with some midpaced to fast riffing that mixes thrash and death metal together with a good amount of melody, while the lead guitars are very technical and melodic with alot of exotic scales being used and some classical guitar.

Vocals mix clean singing, melodic death metal screams, deep growls and thrash style od singing together, while the lyrics cover some political and everyday style of themes, as for the production on this recording it has a very professional sound that captures all of the instruments.

In my opinion Enemy Of The Sun are a very good band and while some of the elements are a little bit too commercial for my tastes I still feel that this is a good amount and if you are a fan of melodic/technical death/thrash you should check this band out.
RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Castaways In The N.W.O" "Ticket" "The Golden Horizon" and "Sky Shooting Stars". RECOMMENDED BUY.
