Mincing Fury And The Guttural Clamour Of Queer Decay Interview

1.Can you update us with what is going on with the band these days? - Hi! Firstly thank you for your interest in MINCING FURY. We are currently working on some new material (already 4 brand new songs are almost done), drinking tons of beers, play some gigs around and preparing to the highlight of this year – Obscene Extreme Festival where we will play again after long 5 years! Also, in few weeks we will play special gig here in Brno as celebration of 10 years of our existence with some special guest like almost all ex-members of the band, so we will play special sets in different line-ups and play some really old songs there. and preparing to the hihre almost done), drinking tons of beers, play some gigs around and preparing to the hih

2.How would you describe the musical sound of the new album and how does it differ from previous releases? - New CD "Devolution" is different mainly because half of the CD is something like “the best of”, only with new sound and face, played by different members. . On Devolution CD you can find half of the song totally new (including CBT cover from their tribute CD) and second half are "remakes" of our own songs from all previous CD´s - so it’s really something like "best of". New songs from that CD are surely a bit different as MF is still in progress and we enjoy to play in a bit another way nowadays…anyway I’m pretty sure that our old fans will not be disappointed though. New CD have surely the best sound we have ever did during studio recordings.

3.How would you describe the lyrical concepts and topics the new release explores? - We have friend of us who is taking care about the most of the lyrics. The rest is on me and our second singer Milcunt, but do not look for any deep thoughts. We take some lyrics with the humor, esp. on last CD “Devolution” as the title song says – we are the guys of devolution…

( 4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the bands name? No special meaning at all. 10 years ago (I was not at band that time), original members were not able to agreed to any of 3 titles so at the end all of them were connected together to one long name - stupid, right?

( 5. Your new release has a very powerful sounding production, are you satisfied with the way it turned out? - CD was completely recorded in close studio Davos (Vyskov, Czech Republic) with the big help of sound engineer Otyn (drummer from PIGSTY). We are very happy of the result, sound is really brutal, but still "readable“ (my personal opinion)

. 6.What are some of the best shows that the band has played so far and how would you describe your stage performance? It’s hard to describe as you have to see it. I think this is the strongest side of the band – we have very emphatic and crazy stage show, we love big stages and are able to make a hell there. We run and jump all over there, lay on the floor, etc., I think our fans always enjoy seeing what we are doing on the stage. Our best shows were on Obscene Extreme festival (year 2006), Antitrend open air festival (years 2008, 2009 and 2010) and also couple of gigs in Germany (few years ago) and some local shows here in Czech Republic too (Brno, Olomouc and many others).

7.Do you have any touring plans for the new releases? - No big tour plans for this year. We would like to concentrate on composing of the new material and spreading our crazy show around in Czech Republic and eventually in some close countries too.

8.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your new album by death metal and grindcore fans? - Few have received several feedbacks to our new CD, 90% of them were amazing, and the rest were average. None was totally disappointed so we are happy of this. We are looking for more responses and reviews shortly as our label mate Alex from United Guttural Records started promotion of our new CD just couple of months ago.

9.Are there any side projects besides this band, or is this a full time line-up? - All our members have other bands. Besides MF, drummer Zahradnik play in grind band ANAALIA, guitar player Motorak plays guitar in new technical deathcore band C.O.N. and sing in old-school death metal band DISGUSTING. Bass player Had play in rock band JAPKA and second singer is also singing in metal core band D.O.T.S.S.. I play drums in grind/HC band SPINELESS FUCKERS – btw. 2 ex-members of MF play there with me. Current line-up is together only about 3 years till now and I´m only the member who remember debut CD „Lamentations“ released in 2002.

10.What direction do you see the music heading into on future releases? - Hard to say. We will continue on song writing within the style of new songs from Devolution. It means mixing of many different styles together based on death metal, grind core and hard core with some blasting parts. We still would like to play brutal, fast, and catchy and the most important thing – we do not want to sound like copy of any other band and do not get boring any of our fans.

11.What are some bands or musical styles that have influenced your music and also what are you listening to nowadays? - We have no specific influences so far. We listen tons of bands around, but we do not want to sound like any other band. We have our own face that we like, that’s all. Me personally I nowadays listen to many various stuff, but I can name just a few of my faves during last months – I like last CD´s from bands like CEPHALIC CARNAGE, ION DISSONANCE, IWBO, ZUBROWSKA, EMMURE and many more.

12Outside of music, what are some of your interests? - My girlfriend, our 5 dogs, work, beer, sport (active and passive), sex (active), relaxing and parties with my friends…usual stuff as any other one

( 13. Any final words or thoughts before we wrap up this interview? - Many thanks for your interest in MF and for offering the place here. We really appreciate it. Also, we would like to thanx to all our fans worldwide who have supported us for last 10 years! As already mentioned in next few weeks we will celebrate 10 years of the MF existence and we hope MF will destroy stages some more years in the future. Check for the new CD “Devolution” and come to drink with us to our ANTITREND festival (complete line-up for this year will be shortly announced on: HYPERLINK "http://www.myspace.com/antitrendparties" http://www.myspace.com/antitrendparties ) which will take place near Brno (Czech Republic) on Saturday 18.6.2011. Take care and cheeeeeers!
