Killing Addiction where a death metal band from Ocala, Florida that had a slight grind/death influence and this is a review of their 1993 album "Omega Factor" which was released by JL America Records.
Drums are a mixture of slow, midpaced and fast drumming with some blast beats being utilized at times, while the bass playing is all rhythm bass that follows the riffs that are coming out of the guitars.
Rhythm guitars are mostly simple sounding death metal riffs that range from being slow to fast with some thrash influences, while the lead guitars have a very technical sound to the guitar solos mixed with with alot of the standard death metal of that time period this album was recorded.
Vocals are mostly deep death metal growls which are kind of mixed down low in the mix with some high pitched screams being used at times, while the lyrics are very philosophical mixed in with some nature, historical and everyday themes, as for the production on this recording which was recorded at Mirror Image Studios in Gainesville, Florida during March of 1992 has a very raw and primitive sound.
In my opinion Killing Addiction where a good band and while they where a bit more basic and simple than alot of the more known death metal bands of the time they still had good music, and if you are a fan of the more simple sounding classic death metal you should check this album out. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Omega Factor" "dehumanized" and "Impaled". RECOMMENDED BUY.
